RESULTS of the Heeley Trophy
Entries were up and so was the number of runners; there was over 450 finishers. We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed a bright sunny day and great conditions for racing. This year we added a championship race for the under 11 age group too.
The Heeley trophy is awarded for the club with the highest overall score across all races. This measures strength and depth with points awarded to the first 30 finishers in each race. The club with the greatest total wins. This year Birchfield emerged as victors (810pts), ahead of BRAT (788pts) and last year’s winners Stratford pushed back to 3rd with 739pts.
Congratulations to all the new champions. Teams to represent Warwickshire at the inter-counties championships in March 2024 will be finalised in February and take into account performances in the Midland champs as well as league races.
