NOTE – THE CLOSING DATE IS SATURDAY 26th NOVEMBER 2022

2022 Cross Country Championships

was held on Saturday 10th December 2022
at Welkin Farm, Easenhall, near Rugby

We are indebted to the Lea family and the Malt Kiln Farm Shop for sponsoring the event and allowing us to use their land.

There were some important changes this year. and we are interested in your feedback.

There has been a move in some events to give equality of distances to Women and those events ask the Men AND Women to compete over 10k.  WCAA has some reservations about this and so has decided to test the change, but slowly. This years Senior/Masters Womens race was over 7k (rather than 6k). We shall be very interested in feedback afterwards because we have to decide to go back to 6k, stay at 7k or move up to 8k in 2023.

The Under 20 age groups ran alongside the seniors and masters this year just as they do in their League races. There are separate awards for the Under 20s, Seniors and Masters but, bearing in mind that an U20 and Master can choose to enter as a senior, any athlete can only win awards or contribute to a team score, for the age group in which they are entered. Should we leave the U20s with the seniors or return to a U17 + U20 race?

We have changed from the traditional date of January to December so the event is before the Christmas break rather than afterwards and in a less crowded month. Should we stay in December or move back to January?

We are also interested in your views on the general facilities this year, and in particular the course because it is the first time that we have used it.

The programme for the event is HERE.

The results for all of the races are HERE.
